This is the third time to repair this part.

Right half that receives almost no damage for some reason
Even on the right half surface, which has almost no rust, the scratches on the part are filled and the surface is finished.
The parking place is always different, and I still don't understand why there is a difference in the way corrosion occurs on the left and right.
Is it possible that the salt water fell when I went in and out of the sea?
Repair large cracks at the top of the front pillar
I found a lot of damage on the top.
Or rather, I remembered.
Immediately after removing the paint, the appearance of cracks became dew.
A fairly large crack, vibration was concentrated only with the rod, and the crack seemed to run again soon.
So, I stuck an iron plate and embedded it so that the vibration would be dispersed.
Land Cruiser 70 series, I often see cars with cracks in this part.
The upper and lower bases of the front pillar are prone to cracks.
This is the first time to repair this part.
However, the upper part of the same pillar on the left side was cracked about 15 years ago, so I also embedded an iron plate to repair it.
The repaired part, the iron plate, seems to disperse the vibration, and it is still in good condition after the repair.
After driving on a rough road for many years, cracks will run in the parts and parts where vibrations gather, and they will grow.
When repairing, it is necessary to keep in mind that the vibration during running does not concentrate on the points and lines.
Otherwise, cracks will occur again soon.
What I noticed from the experience of the manager himself riding the Land Cruiser for many years.
It is easy to understand when considering the restoration of fishing rods.
A fishing rod that won't break even if it gets bigger, and if you fix a part firmly, the tip will break easily.
Mr. Veteran Welding, I didn't quite understand that, so I always had to give instructions.
Water enters the car through this crack.
This water was also the cause of great damage to the inside.
The cracks in the upper part must be completely repaired as rainwater can enter and cause the car to corrode.
Ceiling hatch,
A hatch where you can observe animals by opening the ceiling wide during a safari.
It is very useful during safari.
Under the scorching sun, it becomes a shade, and under the rain, it becomes a rain shield.
It's an all-weather observation hatch.
The downside is that the four stanchions are annoying and annoying.
When I just bought this hatch and car, I hit the ceiling in the underground parking lot.
Repair the scratches that occurred at that time with glass fiber putty.
The wound, which had been left unattended for many years, was finally repaired.
Hatch that was full of scratches is also repaired cleanly
After repairing with glass fiber putty, the surface was finished with normal putty.
There is also a hatch above the driver's seat.
This was also full of scratches and was repaired in the same way.
The front hatch is not an all-weather type but an all-sky open type hatch.
The shabby bonnet is almost completely repaired
The back side is a bonnet full of cracks.
After repairing the cracks, finish the surface with putty on both the front and back sides.
Dashboard parts that were full of cracks
Even dashboard parts that were full of cracks were repaired by welding all the cracks that were found.
In addition, the old welded part was scraped off to finish the surface. (Slightly right in the middle of the above photo)
And it was this work that I spent the most time on, scraping the putty and finishing the surface.
The caretaker almost scraped the surface
First, rough-cut with 60-100 paper and scrape off the raised putty.
When it was almost scraped off, I increased the number of papers to 400, 600, and 800.
No. 600 is fine, but here it seems that the finish No. 800 before painting is the mainstream.
To remove it, spray a primer and scrape off the raised part again to finish the surface.
There is a dented part, so putty is put on it again.
Such work is repeated several times over the entire surface.
