HZJ75 with almost completed restoration work
My car has been painted and the parts have been returned.
As a finishing touch, I tried various things to make the car quieter and to hear the audio sound better, so this time I will write about that.
It seems that this kind of work is called deadening, but for the time being, what I did this time is not that much.
■
Car repair work is almost complete.
We decided to reduce the noise of the car to improve the ride quality.
Of course, don't spend as much money as possible.
Soundproof mats, soundproof mats, etc. are quite expensive, so you can do it without spending money.
The first thing that came to my mind was a blanket.
It seemed to be quite quiet, but I rejected it because it is a material that absorbs water and may grow mold and cause odors.
After thinking about various things, I came up with a good one.
A damaged old tire tube that I set aside to use for something.
I decided to cut the tube flat and lay it under the floor.
The other is a yoga mat.
It seems that it hardly absorbs the sound even if it hits my ear, but I decided to use it because I thought it was better than nothing.
Soundproofing and overdoing may make the sound boring, so it may be just right.
Floor with tire tubes
An old tube that was damaged and could no longer be used as a tire tube was laid flat under the foot of the front seat and under the floor mat.
Use of scrap products, which I think will help reduce noise.
It seems that soundproofing and vibration-proofing effects can be expected, such as cutting into stripes and forming an air layer in the double overlapping part.
A sheet I made at the time of purchase that I haven't used for a while
On top of that, I laid an old sheet that I hadn't used for a while and made at the time of purchase.
Furthermore, a Land Cruiser original sheet was laid on it.
Land Cruiser's original seats have been cracked, sewn and repaired here and there.
It has been laid for 29 years without much maintenance since 1991.
It was hard, so I let it soak in plenty of silicone to give it flexibility.
I layered the mats, thinking that the sound would be quieter if I layered them many times.
And the floor mat on the top.
I bought a new mat that seems to have good soundproofing.
When I finished the work and actually ran, I found that it was considerably quieter.
There used to be holes in the floor, so the squeaking noises of the engine, gears, and tires came in directly with the wind.
It was so quiet that it was incomparable to that time.
When it gets too quiet, the feeling of wildness decreases and it feels a little unsatisfactory.
I didn't lay a tire tube on the middle gear, so I'm thinking of laying it someday.
Personally, do you think that the key to riding a car for a long time and having fun is to do all the repairs that are not related to the safety of operation?
"If you do that, it will be better"!
Save the fun of repairing later.
I forgot to take a picture, but I replaced the upper front and rear hatches and the seal part with a material with good airtightness.
At high speeds, the sound of the wind was completely shut out and it became very quiet.
Now I'm thinking of laying tire tubes under the back seats to reduce noise.
The wires were passed through a water tank bukubuku tube.
As the interior of the car became quieter, the sounds I was interested in changed.
I've come to worry about the noise from inside the lining, which I didn't really care about until now.
It seems that the wires collide to open the door and make a noise.
All of these wires were passed through aquarium and bubbling tubes to reduce noise.
When I tried running, it became very quiet, but the noise that I was worried about again.
The next noise I noticed was the sound of the swaying cable.
When you run on a rough road, you can hear the sound of being shaken and hitting the body.
In the future, we plan to fix them together with a cable tie.
This is also a task that I have set aside for later.
The amplifier controller board was broken, so I replaced the IC.
An amplifier controller that was stored and broken while the car was being repaired.
The photo below, the black amplifier on the top JEC, the 4-channel speaker, and the one that controls the woofer.
It was revived by exchanging the IC in the center.
The fee is about 1000 yen.
I asked an expert for this.
Since all the incandescent bulbs for lighting the amplifier controller LCD had been cut off, I used the bulb of the broken Christmas tree light.
When I connected the two in series and used it, the brightness was just right, so I installed it.
I did this myself.
It is also a real pleasure to use up thoroughly without changing to a new one.
There is little waste.
Every time I work, I get attached to it.
It is hard to say that the wiring is organized
An amplifier and speakers set in the lining behind the driver's seat.
I don't know what to do if I mess with the wiring and people, so I do all the work myself.
This is very important!
Around the woofer, before work
Then, in order to make the speaker resonate more and to suppress the chattering sound, I decided to attach a yoga mat that seems to absorb some sound just behind the speaker.
To cancel out the opposite phase sound emitted from the back of the speaker.
Largely pasted on the back of the woofer speaker
The area around the woofer was vibrating and chattering throughout the body, so I cut it out and pasted it.
It was also used to fill the gap between the lining and the body.
A small yoga mat pasted behind the other 6 speakers
A small sticker was attached to the back of the remaining 6 speakers.
When I finished pasting everything, I tested it.
The chattering noise that has been generated so far has almost disappeared.
The tremor of the body was considerably suppressed, and the bass sound became a high-quality and delicate sound.
In addition, the high-cut filter of the woofer used to generate chattering sounds, so 60HZ was the limit, but now it is possible to reverberate bass up to 120HZ.
I also liked the vibrating feeling of the body before, so I think I'm a little lonely.
The yoga mat was more effective than I expected.
I bought it for 2000 yen for this reason, but it seems that it wasn't wasted.
Inside the car where you can enjoy audio even at high speeds
This makes the interior of the car a more comfortable space where you can enjoy audio while driving.

There are still minor corrections and repairs left, but we can't deal with them, and this is the 17th year of Land Cruiser's major repairs! I will complete it with this time.
We will continue to cover other repairs, repairs, and parts replacements. Thank you for your continued support.
Until the end Thank you for reading.
