The chicks were seen swimming in harmony with each other near the Ochanomizu Bridge from the opposite side of the Aquatic Life House.
The chicks are doing their best to catch and eat small insects.
It seems that there are two parent birds properly, and the parent birds sometimes bring food.
I don't see the little grebe that I mentioned in my blog last time.
Did he fly away somewhere?
As of July 19, three little grebe families live in Inokashira Park.

The chicks of every family have different feather colors, but they are getting closer to their parent birds.

When I see the chicks that the parent birds are trying to spoil, they seem to be angry, saying, "Don't spoil!"
Parent birds not only attack with anger, but also properly educate them.
When the parent bird rises to the surface, the chicks approach the parent bird for food, whether they have food or not.
Usually, the parent bird dives and goes somewhere when the chick approaches.
When this is repeated many times, the chick chases after the parent bird dives into the water.
It seems that the parent bird wanted the chick to dive into the water in this way.
Underwater, it seems to teach chicks how to feed.
In addition to just diving, he guides the water surface to a point with abundant food, saying, "There is a lot of food in such a place!"
In this way, the chicks seem to learn where and what kind of food is caught.
The most important thing apart from parents is whether or not they can catch their own food.
Whether or not the prey is caught is an important life-threatening issue.
If you don't get a proper education here, it will be a big deal after you leave your parents.
Like humans, chicks are hundreds of birds and siblings with the same parents, but they all have different personalities.
Some chicks actively dive, while others rarely dive and wait for food from their parents on the surface of the water.
Some chicks go somewhere without permission.
Meanwhile, it seems that the spoiled chicks who are waiting for food become the target of bullying of their parents.
The attack on the chicks of the parent bird seems to indicate to the chicks who are trying to spoil them forever, "Don't spoil them anymore!".
Even so, the chicks who are persistently trying to spoil are subject to a concentrated attack by their parents.
Therefore, the smaller chicks that want to be spoiled will be killed by the parent bird.

The gourd bridge family, the smallest chicks are always being bullied intensively.
The chick on the right seems to be allowed to spoil the parent bird, and even if spoiled, it is hardly attacked.
Looking at it, it seems that it is not just promoting the prevention of spoiling of chicks and independence.
There may be a cruel but thinning element in it.
Or maybe the male and female chicks are also involved.
