"I climbed Mt. Fuji!" Part 1, the reason for climbing

Two weeks have already passed, but I have climbed Mt. Fuji, so I will report a little.

The caretaker has climbed Kilimanjaro, the highest mountain in Africa, twice (three times since he climbed it again in 2019).

However, I have never climbed Mt. Fuji.

Mt. Fuji is the highest point at the 5th station, which I climbed by bus on a school excursion (mobile classroom) when I was in elementary school long ago.

Other than that, it's always a mountain that you can only see from a distance.

I'm thinking of climbing many times, but I haven't climbed until now.

This year, I decided to climb for some reason.

In mid-August, I climbed Mt. Takao in search of a place where I could easily see the stars in Tokyo.

You can go to the top of Mt. Takao, but the light from the vending machine is an obstacle, so head to Uratakao.

Mt. Takao, which is crowded with vacationers, has few people at night, and there is no one in Uratakao.

There is no light around, and it is a place where you can take a closer look at the stars without being disturbed by anyone.

In the sky, I could see the moon past the crescent moon, but still the setting of the Milky Way in the summer.

Since I came on location scouting, I didn't have any food or warm clothes, so I went down the crying mountain without waiting for the moon to set in time for the last train.

It would be such a good day. (tears)

Moon, Mt. Fuji, Milky Way

It was sunny and the air was clear, so I could see Mt. Fuji clearly.

As the sun sets, the trail begins to light up.

And when it got dark, the mountain trail appeared clearly.

I thought when I saw the appearance of Mt. Fuji.

"Now, let's look at this from the top of that light."

"I'm sure you can see a wonderful view!"

At night, the mountain trail of Mt. Fuji is lit

So I decided to climb Mt. Fuji.

I started preparing for mountain climbing because I would get hurt if I licked it.

The most scary thing is hypothermia when the weather is bad, and rain measures are very important.

For the time being, the ones I bought

Zack cover, raindrops, shoelaces just in case.

A total of about 4000 yen will be spent.

There are some ridiculously expensive Gore-Tex rain gear, but about 2000 yen is enough.

In short, it's OK if it fits your body comfortably.

Cheap but heavy but durable.

When I checked the transportation to Mt. Fuji, I found that there was a bus from Shinjuku Expressway Bus Terminal to Mt. Fuji 5th Station at 6:45.

The fare is 2700 yen, and you will arrive at the 5th station of Mt. Fuji after 9 o'clock, which is the fastest and cheapest.

Decide "Let's go with this!"

If you go by this bus, you will start climbing from the 5th station of the Subaru line, so it is inevitably the Yoshida route.

It is said that more than half of all climbers climb this route.

The Yoshida route is the route with the light on the far right in the photo above.

There are many inns, and it's easy to see where the route is.

Food.

10 boiled eggs, 4 servings of retort curry, 1 bag of cereal, chocolate, candy, 2 loaves of bread.

Prepared, if you have water, it will last for 3 days.

It doesn't fit in the camera bag I use all the time, so I pack the rest into a knapsack.

If possible, bring a sleeping bag so that you can float the accommodation fee.

Weighing the luggage together with 2.5 liters of water weighs just 20 kg.

"It's a little heavy, but it's like that."

On August 30, 30 minutes before departure, I went to Shinjuku Busta.

Tickets cannot be bought at the automatic ticket issuing machine because they are already full!

When I went to the ticket office thinking, "I wonder if I can get on, I managed to get a seat."

From 6:45 to Mt. Fuji 5th Station, you can get on the bus as planned!

The feeling of relief I feel when I get on a vehicle that I might not be able to ride is very comfortable.

The bus is full.

It seems that I was very lucky to get a seat without a reservation.

Only foreign words fly around on the bus, and I wonder, "Is this Japan?"

No one seems to understand the precautions the driver says.

It may be a World Heritage effect.

The bus ran on the Metropolitan Expressway and Chuo Expressway at a speed of 80 km / h, separated from Otsuki toward Lake Kawaguchi, and climbed the Fuji Subaru Line.

Arrived at the 5th station of Mt. Fuji after 9 o'clock on time, a little bus trip for 2 hours.

The seats are comfortable to ride in no time.

The comparison target is a 6-hour shuttle bus trip between Nairobi (Kenya) and Arusha (Tanzania), which I used to ride well.

Mt. Fuji seen from the 5th station, the altitude difference from here is about 1400 meters

There is no wind and the sky is clear!

Mountaineering weather without saying anything!

If the weather is good, the altitude difference of 1400 meters does not seem to be a big deal.

With the clock at hand, the altitude is 2265 meters and the mountain climbing starts at 9:30!

First of all, it starts with a light climb of the forest belt.

The zigzag steep slope is still more than a kilometer away. is.

登山道に突入!

遅くなってしまったので、続きは明日書きます。

悪しからず。
