"The story of a goshawk, a bird of prey that has advanced into the city Tokyo Japan"
This blog introduces the life of a goshawk, a wild drama that unfolded in front of the caretaker in an urban park in Tokyo from July 2017 to December 2018.
The sisters who are always with me, and the eldest son who came late as usual
The personalities and behaviors of each of the three brothers I mentioned several times in this blog.
This time, I would like to take a closer look at that character.
■
Three young goshawks are growing safely, and the caretaker sees them as two females and one male.
There is no particular confirmation, but the behavior and behavior are slightly different.
Females do not care much about the things around them and concentrate on everything to achieve their goals, while males are very sensitive to the things around them, and there is no choice but to worry about the details.
Even though I'm curious, I poke something to hide the gestures I'm curious about.
The behavior is pretty playful.
The appearance of male and female goshawks is almost the same, but females are one size larger and have a lower voice than males, so it is easy to distinguish them if they are together.
It's often confusing, though.
The eldest son, who is usually alone, sometimes joins his sisters.
I'm sure this is a time when I'm hungry because I'm tired of playing.
I can't wait for my dad goshawk to bring food, or maybe I'll be with him so that he doesn't miss the food when the food comes in.
So it's easy to introduce 3 birds
Eldest daughter, the biggest child
The first is the eldest daughter, with a large body and a leader. It is usually this child who opens up some first action. The remaining two birds imitate the behavior of their eldest daughter and follow.
On the nest before flying, food always had priority for this child.
Her body was big and powerful, so I always refrained from the other two birds, or rather, even if I was eating food, her eldest daughter would rob me, so I have to wait for her eldest daughter to be full. I had to.
She ate a lot and grew up bigger and stronger than her brother.
If there wasn't enough food, only this child would have survived.
Fortunately, thanks to the hard hunting of the parent birds, all three were blessed with enough food to eat.
All three were able to grow up vigorously.
It is the largest in appearance and has a slightly dark brown color.
Second daughter, always following her eldest daughter
The second one is the introduction of the second daughter, and the behavior is always the same as the eldest daughter.
Since they are the same female, they may have various hobbies.
I often chase after her sister.
The behavior also imitates the behavior of the eldest daughter.
The size is slightly smaller than my sister, and the color is slightly light brown.
Eldest son, loves observing insects
The last one is often played alone, probably because it's not fun to play with boys and older sisters.
I especially like observing insects, and when insects such as bees and dragonflies approach, I watch and observe them.
Even when I was a chick, I was observing the hornets that were approaching me until they flew away.
The fairest, the body is one size smaller and slimmer than the other two birds. The bark is also slightly high-pitched as a characteristic of males.
Below are three scenes where you can tell that you like insects.
The dragonfly is approaching my head
As the eldest son was standing alone on the treetop, a dragonfly approached.
He stayed still, not driving him away, and not astonishing him, and he stopped at the top of his head.
The eldest son who stays still so as not to threaten the dragonfly
When the dragonfly stops on his head,
The dragonfly has completely hardened so as not to be surprised.
The dragonfly took off after a short break
The eldest son who stiffened his body until the dragonfly took off.
When the dragonfly took off after the break, the eldest son relieved his body tension.
Had he been the other two sisters, he would have tried to eat the dragonfly, and the dragonfly would never have stopped on his head.
Even if he stopped, I think he hated and drove him away.
What is this?
I am interested in various things other than insects, and I learn various things every day while trying various things by myself.
The eldest son who is interested in anything and tries one by one to increase his knowledge.
Being interested in various things and trying them also leads to learning more things faster.
The eldest son who has tended to refrain from small and large sisters.
As he learned and practiced flying every day, he seemed to realize that his flying ability was higher than his sisters.
Flying in the sky is faster, faster, and faster than your sisters!
The fact that it is slightly smaller than the other two birds seems to be an advantage for flying.
As the eldest son improved his flying skills and gained confidence, the formation of the eldest daughter and the eldest son began to reverse in the air.
The side that was being chased until now is now the side that is chasing.
The eldest son, who is no match for his sister on the ground, seems to have learned that he will not lose if he flies in the sky.
The eldest son (left) with a small body tried to chase after the eldest daughter (right), but the older sister escaped.
The eldest son who tries to chase after his unwilling sister because he knows that he will lose if he flies in the sky.
His eldest son, his youngest son, has become able to fly better than his sisters, and it seems that flying has become fun and unavoidable.
In the sky, the heaviest eldest daughter was the most inferior.
Her eldest daughter has come to be chased by her little second daughter.
It's easy to see that a bird of prey flying in the sky isn't strong if it's big and heavy.
