I have a Yamaha electronic piano.
A janitor who originally had no connection with musical instruments, bought a keyboard for his child a few years ago, and has been hooked ever since.
No matter how you play it, it's free! And the more you play, the better you get!
A pattern that is easy for administrators to fall into.
There are videos on YouTube that teach me various things, so I practice with reference to them. Free reference materials.
People who eat it think it's hard, and I wonder if it's YouTube advertising income now.
It seems that the way of teaching has changed with the times.
Even with YouTube piano lessons that you can watch for free, you can always take paid lessons.
Such an electronic piano, recently, one of the keyboards has stopped returning from time to time.
If you look it up on the internet, you can find out most things these days.
Naturally, I searched the internet for people who had similar symptoms and who had fixed it.
One of the keyboard got stuck
In this blog, I will write about the work I did until I repaired the electronic piano that was not returned, because I disassembled and repaired it, and finally the keyboard came back.
Is it prohibited to disassemble YAMAHA electronic pianos? It was written.
So please don't imitate good children (people).
This isn't Japan, so maybe it's not banned.
By the way, the author of this blog is a photographer who has been based in Kenya for many years.
■
The electronic piano used is the P60 2003 model.
I don't know if this is new or old, so I don't have an image.
If there are 88 keys and you can hear the sound of a piano, that's fine.
If you go to a used piano shop, you'll find pianos that are over 100 years old, so compared to that, they're fairly new. I was talking about a used piano shop in Nairobi, Kenya, but when I went there recently, the old one was gone.
disassemble
A number of screws are lined up around the bottom of the electronic piano.
If I remove this screw, I should be able to remove the upper cover, so I lie down and remove the screw, and the cover comes off as expected.
The included speakers are small and not very impressive, but
The soundproofing of the entire piano, using felt, etc., is quite well taken care of.
It becomes a sealed box, and even a small speaker produces a good sound.
Electronic piano with lid removed
How do you remove the keyboard?
Even if I search the Internet, I can't find an article that clearly describes how to remove the keyboard.
It's prohibited, so why not?
I found it in the article, but I don't quite understand it.
It's easier to understand with a photo.
For the time being, I don't know how to remove the keyboard, so I'll try to do something that can be done without removing the keyboard.
Grease spray, lithium grease, but won't it damage the plastic?
Simulate and practice on the keyboard at the end where you can see the structure, and then here it is! and sprayed.
Aim for this ground
If this is fixed, it will be a long time.
After spraying, the keyboard actually became easier to return to some extent, but the symptoms were not completely cured.
There was no way I could just put the cover back on.
Hatehate, how can I remove the keyboard?
After doing some research on the internet, I was able to figure something out.
A manager who is not very good at reading comprehension.
I really want you to tell me with a picture.
So, for the next time you're a caretaker trying to remove the keyboard from a Yamaha digital piano, here's a picture that's easy to understand.
If the manager could see such a picture, he would be able to understand it immediately, which was helpful.
Like this, if you push something thin and hard between the keyboards, the stopper will come off and the keyboard will pop out.
Once you know this, you will be able to attach and detach the keyboard very efficiently.
Very easy.
The small △ mark on the left side of B above, this is the mark to remove
The part to be pushed is properly marked for service personnel.
With a pinpoint here, if you press a little, the keyboard will pop out.
When you disassemble an electrical appliance, it's pretty easy to understand, and there are signs that say, "This is the screw to remove!", and this piano is no exception.
What about keyboard damage?
The keyboard that was removed and could not be returned
I lined it up with a keyboard with the same mark on the bass side that returns to normal, and compared it to see if there was any physical damage.
It looks like there is no damage
According to internet information, the upper part of the part in the photo is missing and the balance is lost and it will not return.
The keyboard of the electronic piano used by the caretaker, which had not been returned, was not found to have any damage such as chipping or cracking.
Is the cause the sticking of the grease?
If there is no damage, it is suspected that the grease is sticking.
So I decided to reapply the grease.
The old grease was wiped off with a cotton swab, etc., and a new silicone grease that does little damage to the plastic was applied.
Silicon grease comes with the Tamiya model kit.
The first time I became familiar with grease was model building when I was in the third grade of elementary school, the remote control 3 channels I made and played with, and the bulldozer (active Tamiya product). Since then, I have found silicone grease to be good for plastics.
I used the silicone grease that came with the Nikon waterproof camera.
It's waterproof, but it's okay! ? .
Waterproofing and lubrication may be different, but for the time being, it's okay!
Apply grease to the contact area with the piano body
Also apply to the contacts on the main unit side
Completed application of silicone grease to all contacts
One touch to return the keyboard, just push the keyboard lightly to the original place. Click! It will be fixed with a sound, and it will be in a state where it can be played.
Then just put the lid back on.
When I finished applying the grease and put the keyboard back in its original place, the keyboard returned to its original position.
Compared to other keyboards, it seems to move a little slower, but for the time being there is no problem.
Close the lid and you are done.
Be careful not to pinch the cables when closing the lid!
Tighten the bottom screws one by one.
The occupied order was the order in which the cylinder heads were tightened.
Repair complete! it wasn't
When the power is turned on, the sound is heard, but the red LED of the power lamp does not light up.
Yaba Yaba Yaba,,,,,
Power off immediately.
I did something wrong again.
In such a case, it is very important to turn off the main power supply until the cause is found in order to prevent further damage!
One possible thing is disconnection of the cables connecting the piano body and the cover.
I put the removed upper pig on a small stool that was nearby because I felt annoyed.
I dropped it while I was working, and it dangled in the air.
In retrospect, it immediately occurred to me that some cables had snapped at that time.
Don't want to see scary things, it'll be fine! I just returned it.
When I opened the lid, my prediction was right.
disconnection point
I'm still disconnected!
Neglecting to keep things in order during work will eventually lead to such troubles.
tohoho,,,,
Luckily, the cables are the same color, but you can see the direction.
I have no choice but to put it back to normal.
The most important thing when such an unexpected trouble occurs is to drink coffee slowly without rushing to work.
At times like this, when you encounter an unexpected problem, there's nothing wrong with rushing to keep working.
It is best to calm down once and work out a strategy for the work.
I have had many bitter experiences since I was in elementary school.
Fortunately, the part that receives the small cable was removable.
If it can be removed, the work can be done very easily and surely.
If you look closely, you can see that the metal part cuts the coating and comes into contact with the cable.
how do i get it back I was at a loss for a while, but after drinking coffee, I immediately had an epiphany that I should just push in the membrane.
When I work in a hurry, I can't think of such a thing.
It seems to be good if the cable is pushed in while the membrane is structurally attached.
Remove the remnants of the sacrificed cables one by one with a tiny flathead screwdriver.
pushed into the cable in the position
Pushed all cables into parts
Pushed all cables into place one by one.
Now, does the film come off and the cable touches the contacts?
There seems to be no way to test it, and there seems to be no choice but to turn it on.
I'm sure you'll be fine
Snap the cable back in place.
It is very stressful to turn on the power after such work.
This time, the electricity test without closing the lid.
A slightly learned manager.
When the power is turned on, the power lamp lights up.
The 50 built-in demo sound sources are played properly, and there are no problems with sound settings such as reverb and sound types.
Relax your chest, release the tension in your body, and put your body into relaxation mode.
Slowly dive to the bottom and fix the upper pig with screws.
Work done!
In the end, the second half of the work was superfluous and would not have been necessary if the work had been done carefully.
Well, all's well that ends well!
I wonder if I'll publish the janitor's clumsy performance on the blog soon.
By the way, I'm practicing Mozart's Turkish March for Elise and Clair de Lune which is still in middle.
